   Any time before there early teens, there is lots of opportunities for female golfers out there.

   Any age older than 4yo is great the earlier the better, though early teens as their bodies and minds begin to mature is probably the ideal.
   Golf is a game of body and mind, the higher the expectation the less willing the body is to co-operate. My best advice to you is to play because you love to play, play in competitions for the experience and the friendship and most of all for the fun! Dont expect too much as improvement in golf is sometimes hard to judge. Golf is a game for life and with the handicap system you can play competetively no matter what stage you are at in the learning process.

   I would start as soon as I could and get lessons so you don’ t develop bad habbits early.

   I’m 14 and I just played in my first junior invitational tournament, I didn’t exactly "train" because all you need to know is how to hit the ball well and what rules to remember. I have only been playing for a year. I shot 130 but because it was my first I wasn’t trying to get a good score to win, but to get the experience. It wasn’t competitive, just fun!
