EyeLine Golf – Solid Contact Drill

Visit http://www.eyelinegolf.com for details

Am I hitting my putts solid?

The goal is to learn what a solid putt feels like, and to see what your percentage of solid putts is.

TEST:
Place a mark 20 feet from a cup.

Hit 20 putts. You will know when you hit it solid — it feels solid.

Give yourself a point if you hit the putt solid — no points for mis-hits

Multiply your points by 5 to get your percentage of solid strikes.

SCORE:
100-80 points — Well done! You have great speed control

60-80 points — We need some work. Your speed control won’t get the ball in the hole as often as you want. There are fundamentals that are breaking down we need to look at.

Less than 60 points — We need to give this some dedicated attention. There are some fundamentals that are missing.

EyeLine Golf – The Ladder Drill

Visit http://www.eyelinegolf.com for details…

Am I hitting my putts with consistently proper speed?

The goal is to see what your percentage of “proper speed” putts is.

TEST:
No cup is needed for this test.

Put a tee in the green. Put 4 more tees in a line at 2 feet increments.

Place a mark 15 feet from the nearest tee.

Hit a putt to the first tee. If the putt goes past the tee, and stops short of the 2nd tee, they you get a point.

The subsequent putts to the 2nd tee, 3rd, and 4th tees.

Go through the “ladder” 5 times, for a total of 20 putts.

Multiply your points by 5 to get your percentage of “proper speed” putts
