Are there any golf training drills, aids or devices for improving ones balance that I can use in my golf?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is balance in the golf swing to learn especially for one starting out in golf?

I'd say about 16. I got my balance from focusing on the core like squats, sit ups, leg presses, etc.

Has anybody used the new Perfect Connextion golf training aid? If so, does it really work, or is it just another gimmick?

I have always felt and taught that "your swing is your swing no matter how long it may be", and with the Perfect Connextion you can "feel" the proper swing while putting, chipping, pitching, or hitting full irons and woods."
